Senior Director, Engineering

As a Senior Director of Engineering, you will lead the development and management of multiple engineering teams tasked with elevating the quality of hiring and care delivery of our care professionals, ensuring proper staffing and utilization of these care professionals, and lastly implementing solutions to enhance both client and franchise owner experiences on our platform. You will partner closely with Product, Data and Operations teams, to drive innovation and produce scalable solutions that significantly transition our current manual processes to a system of directed and automated task generation, intelligent prioritization and assignment. You will oversee the architectural direction of each product release, ensuring continuous enhancement in line with customer feedback, adoption potential, business impact, and architectural advancements. Your leadership will be pivotal in evolving our platform from concept through to launch and operational excellence, ensuring our engineering efforts align seamlessly with the overarching business objectives.

What are your Responsibilities?

Technical Competencies and Leadership:

Lead and manage multiple teams of talented engineers and engineering managers, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
Take direct responsibility for business KPIs. Drive business impact by aligning engineering teams to iteratively deliver functionality with tight feedback loops
Define and drive a vision, strategy, and overall roadmap for these engineering teams so they can successfully translate business requirements into technical solutions. Rigorously prioritize work to maximize impact.
Lead and review the architecture of systems, ensuring best practices in code quality, managing technical debt, and implementing effective APIs and eventing strategies. Ensuring, reliability, performance, and scalability.
Guide and help the engineering teams with managing cross-team dependencies, milestone planning, resource allocation and risk management.

Stakeholder Management:

Partner with Product, Design and Operations to align delivery of technology that solves business initiatives and goals.
Coordinate stakeholder requests and customer needs into product solutions complete with feedback loops, adoption plans, and collaborate on measured business impact projections.

Ensure the delivery of projects on time and within budget, while managing the technical and business risks.

Team Development:

Hire, align, and develop your teams into defined roles with ongoing refinement of team charter and mission.
Mentor and develop the team, promoting a healthy engineering culture and managing performance to foster engineering excellence and career development.
Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to leverage new tools and frameworks.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth within the engineering team.

Operational Excellence:

Be responsible for improving operational efficiency, managing technical operations, and ensuring system reliability to support business operations and growth.


Required Skills

Proven experience leading the design and implementation of large-scale projects through managing multi platform engineering teams, preferably in hyper growth stages of a company.
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience managing technical teams delivering on business initiatives and architecture
Experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment, collaborating closely with designers, product managers and operations stakeholders.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
A passion for continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in software engineering.
Computer Science or Engineering focused undergraduate or master degree in computer science or equivalent experience in a technical company.
Demonstrated Software Management skills including design, feature prioritization, operations and successful deployment/release management delivering or growing online or SaaS products
Building Customer focus informed from regular direct user interaction, industry monitoring, and observations across domains. High eq, empathy visible via UX in products built and the development process.
Prioritization across multiple workstreams: Managing multiple goals, deadlines, timelines, scopes, and resources.
Ability to communicate effectively, particularly via written communication with both technical and non-technical team members from front line contributors to c-level leaders.
Experience incorporating Generative AI and other ML/AI models into functionality serving end users.
Bonus: Prior experience working in the healthcare or in-home care industry.

Our range reflects the hiring range for this position. We use national average to determine pay as we are a remote first company. Individual pay is based on a number of factors including qualifications, skills, experience, education, and training.

$310,500—$345,000 USD
