AVP Engineering

Our Healthcare Data Analytics company seeks AVP Engineering within our Payment Integrity business. In this role, you will lead, direct, and manage the cross-functional technology delivery team. You will handle all the operational

aspects of software development to deliver business and project objectives. In addition, you will provide technical,

administrative, and people leadership for multiple, diverse, geographically distributed teams.
Responsibilities

Establish and cultivate relationships with business contacts to identify needs & generate and implement solutions.
Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and processes for assessment and improvements.
Influence change and deliver sustainable technical and architectural decisions to improve efficiencies.
Act as a bridge between other functional areas and departments such as Product, Operations, Data, Finance, and Security
Act as a member of the Technology Leadership Team and a visible partner with Business Unit leadership communicating and realizing the Cotiviti corporate, business, and technology strategies, translating them into individual responsibilities, objectives, and activities.
Hire, develop, coach, lead and retain top-tier talent, focusing on building and improving a team and culture that can assist in employing best-in-class practices to support and drive high internal and external customer satisfaction.
Instruct, direct, and oversee team leads, managers, and staff across the Engineering team, working cooperatively with other leaders.
Influence organizational structure within the area of responsibility. Fully responsible for a functional business area and aligns resources to achieve business area goals and objectives.
Accountable for identifying and creating development opportunities for professional resources.
Act independently to plan new initiatives for development and implementation.
Work is validated by consultation with senior management more than by formal review.
Administer budgets, timelines, and performance measures to achieve short-term and long-term objectives for the department.
Responsible for vendor negotiations and management. Develops strategies and makes recommendations to senior management.
Ensure that work activities within the area of responsibility and business departments remain aligned with overall departmental and business projects. Decisions can significantly impact the expenditure of time and resources across multiple departments.
Ensure project deliverables are accomplished on Time and within budget.
Monitor and manage project risks and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual Performance Plan·
Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Prior experience in healthcare technology domains is helpful.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is required. Master's
Degree preferred.
10+ years of hands-on experience in software development and a minimum of 4+ years of management experience with an increasing level of responsibility and oversight.
Six or more years of progressive leadership experience in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex contexts is preferred.
Experience working in an agile environment.
Understands enterprise-scale development lifecycle processes and methods. Experience in Scaled Agile is a plus.
Experience estimating and planning software development projects, including risk management and
integration plans.
Knowledge of Jira or SDLC is preferred.
Demonstrated experience with managing offshore development teams.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments and tasks simultaneously.
An extremely motivated, results-oriented individual that is very self-directed and comfortable thinking and reacting quickly.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Base compensation ranges from $176,500 to $206,500. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
